BM TRADA has operated the Q–Mark Timber Fire Door Scheme since 1981. It is a third-party scheme providing independent assurance to architects, specifiers, enforcing authorities and building owners that all doors sold under the scheme meet the specified technical and regulatory requirements.

Within the scheme there are major door core producers, including Blankfort, Flamebreak, Halspan and Strebord.
