Fire Resisting Panelled Doors

We have worked very closely with BASF AG to develop methods of producing both Raised and Fielded and Flat panelled fire resisting doors. We can now offer a package of complete solutions to joiners thus enabling them to produce these door-types for their clients.

Pyroplaque Face Applied Sheet

Pyroplaque face applied membrane is now available to up-grade panelled fire resisting doors. This product is manufactured from a thin intumescent sheet with a Birch wood-grain surface finish which can be glued to softwood panels as thin as 6mm and provide 30 minutes fire resistance as defined by BS 476 Part 22.

We have recently subjected our range of Intumescent seals to this fire test regime at Chiltern International Fire. A pair of 44mm thick Halpsan cored doors hung on H103 hinges and fitted with GU closing devices achieved 39 minutes fire integrity.

A combination of our 10mm x 4mm and 15mm x 4mm intumescent  seals were fitted to the jambs-heads and meeting stiles of the doors.

Our Pyrostrip 300 intumescent gasket was used to protect against ignition around the items of hardware.

A glazed aperture was cut out and fitted with a 2mm thick version of our Pyroglaze 30 and Pilkington's Pyrodur glass.
